An ideal LPF impulse response h(t) =is windowed using a rectangular window w(t) = Π(t/T ). Normally, when a rectangular window is used, the resulting stopband of the filter decays at a rate of −20 dB/decade. However, when T is chosen as T = 6π/B, the resulting stopband of the filter decays at twice the rate, or −40 dB/decade. Explain how this is possible. Do other choices of T produce similar results? Do any choices of T produce faster rates of decay? Explain.
