As a registered nurse with a passion for patient care and a drive to lead change within the healthcare industry, I am excited
to pursue the Advanced Practice Registered Nursing (APRN) and Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) role. I am applying to the three-year program that combines both the APRN and DNP roles, as I believe this will provide me with the most comprehensive and advanced education possible to become a clinical leader in the field of nursing.
My interest in the APRN/DNP role stems from my desire to provide more comprehensive and specialized care to my patients. Specifically, I am interested in the role of a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), as it aligns with my interest in working with paediatric patients and their families. I believe that the FNP role will allow me to provide more holistic care to children, as it focuses not only on physical health but also on psychosocial and developmental aspects of care. As an APRN/DNP, I plan to use my education to advocate for healthcare policy changes and to address healthcare disparities within my community and beyond. Specifically, I am interested in advocating for improved access to healthcare for underserved populations, such as those living in rural areas or low-income communities (National Institute of Mental Health, 2019). I believe that by pursuing advanced nursing education, I will be better equipped to identify the root causes of healthcare disparities and develop evidence-based solutions that can help address them. Additionally, I hope to use my skills and expertise...
