Utilitarian Principle:
To find out the ability of any person in solving the ethical issues at workplace and in his
professional life, Utilitarian
theory looks beyond your self-interest to consider those options
which are best for almost everyone who are affected by this decision. This theory mainly focuses
on the outcomes of any cause on the stakeholders. It recognizes the tradeoffs between the
different options while taking a decision. It is done to maximize benefits and minimize harms for
all stakeholders. It is considered to be the cost benefit decision making. So the ultimate motive is
to provide maximum benefit to the greatest number
Message of the theory
The main problem in the utilitarianism principle is to justify the altruistic nature of yours
and how it is benefiting others on the cost of your expense. It has some problems that there is no
significant scale to measure your step is right or not and how would that action is in the benefit
of others. Might be possibility that one action of yours leads to more pain which is difficult to
analyze before the implementation but your intentions were not wrong and you wanted to
provide benefit to all the stake holders. It is not easy to define the reason that why you should be
morally obligated to do things which are benefiting to others and not to you. Utilitarian may be
