Introduction
     The session conducted by Dr. Hocoy using Terrance as an excellent example of how cultural influence have a significant impact on the performance of mental health of the individuals from minority background facing racial discrimination. It was also observed that Dr. Hocoy was raised in a culture which was of communist mentality. Terrance’s family gave more preference on the significance of family and community. As a result, Terrance developed few friends from non-Asian community, the viewpoint of his family was that school is the place for only study and that relations and interests comes afterwards. Hence, Terrance was in a dilemma and a sense of cultural conflict was developed inside him.
Analysis
     Since, Terrance’s family developed a collectivist attitude, it led him to be highly attuned towards other requirements and was highly devoted in establishing various relationships. Yet, it was also observed that Terrance was very hesitant in seeking assistance for himself. This was because he did not want to become a burden for others.
