After the story of the promotion of Doretta Dachshund-Beagle appeared in the paper, you get calls from two employees of Happy Pup, one of them a junior executive of the firm. They independently say that her promotion came after Aaron Spanielson broke off their intimate relationship, which had gone on for years. Dachshund-Beagle threatened to file a multimillion dollar sexual harassment suit, your sources say, unless she received the promotion, a hefty salary increase and lucrative stock options. What do you do? And, if you are Happy Pup's director of public relations, what do you do if the reporter calls and makes an inquiry? And what happens if you tell Spanielson about the call and he says, "Oh, no! How'd they find out?" (Note: "Quickly update your resume" is not an option, given today's job market.)
