After ascertaining the applicant’s beliefs and attitudes toward children, teaching, and learning, the interviewer should discuss and answer questions about the program, such as the program’s vision, mission, and philosophy; the ages of enrolled children; guidance and discipline practices; how children are assessed; the degree of family involvement; a complete description of the job, including salary, the length of school day and year, opportunities for promotion, fringe benefits, sick leave and retirement plans, consulting and supervisory services, and the nature and use of assessment to determine job performance and advancement.
