Organisation Overview 1.1 Background on Organic Co 100 % Organic Co is a dealer and seller of pure organic vegetables, fruits and nuts, honey, and eggs, and these are grown with the principles of permaculture and by using biodynamic soil. Richard Gehrke is the main owner of the company and this whole process initially started from the backyard of his house (Aasheim et al., 2019). This company was started by Richard and his friends but later on, as the value of organic food increased they turned the business to the commercial business. 1.2 Organizational Charts Richard Gehrke is the owner of the company, and he mainly deals with the producing sector. Andrell is the mother of Richard Gherke and she mostly looks after the customer relations and also at the information systems. Christopher, Christine, Connie, Donna were also appointed to look after the customer service and for taking the customer orders and giving it to Andrell. They also assisted Richard in horticulture with more staff (Aithal, 2019). Phil and Betty were appointed to look after the accounts of the company under Andrell. William and Bill were hired by Andrell to take care of the pickup sector and later on Kenny was hired as the assistant of William and Bill. To get help on the production side Richard has hired Nathan, Nick, Mike, and Sally. Lastly, to get helping hands on the machinery part, Richard has hired Fred, Barney, and Wilma. Fred was considered as the manager of the tractor and was answerable to both Richard and Andrell. The marketing team was handled by Joe, son of Richard, and who was also pursuing marketing. 1.3 Business Functions 100% Organic Co is a small producer and retailer of organic food materials with huge demand and a huge number of customers. So this company has many parts or many structures of business functions. Richard was expertise in producing and taking care of the firms so he concentrated on that only, whereas Richard’s mother Andrell was good at customer service and so was focusing on that only along with the focus on the information systems which made the work of the customers easy (Ayre et al., 2019). It was easy for Richard to maintain the needs of the customer but was becoming difficult for him to maintain the customer book, the customer book had all the information regarding the details of the customers. But this customer book was becoming difficult for Richard as this was distracting Richard from the framing. These sectors needed the use of New Information Systems so that Richard could deal with the customers in a better way. Andrell concentrated on the customer side with the use of the Information systems. To maintain a good customer base, Christoper, Christine, Connie, and Donna were hired with the use of the information systems and they also helped in the horticulture activities along with other staff. The production every week was changing because of the change in harvest and change in weather so this confusion can be easily tackled by the use of the new information systems (Barnes et al., 2019). There were problems with the billing and there was also confusion in the billings and this was also in need of new information systems. To take care of this sector Phil and Betty were appointed to look after the accounts of the company. The business was increasing in size as days passed and so the inconvenience was also increasing and this was a time where the new information systems were much needed. System Vision Document 2.1 Draft System Vision Document for the Organic Co. Practice Management System Before implementing the different types of information systems needed for this business, there should be a clear idea regarding the different types of information systems. The main information systems needed for this business are Hardware, Software, Database, Network, and Procedures. Hardware is the devices that are used in working together for accepting, processing, and showing the data and the information. Software is a program that helps the hardware to collect information (Busbridge, 2020). Databases are the compiled files and tables of similar and relevant data. Networks are used for distributing resources. Lastly, procedures are used as command of the above information systems. The 100% Organic Co needs some good Information systems like it needs the hardware because it is a growing company and a growing company needs a good IT infrastructure and this hardware makes the operations of the company less chaotic and also helps the company to be organized. So this hardware will keep the records of all the activities going in the business. Software is also very important for the company because it is very much needed for the running of the hardware successfully without any issues. The database is also very important as it is the most useful information system because it helps in keeping all the records and especially for this company (Camero and Alba, 2019). After all, maintaining the customer book was becoming very difficult for Andrell. It can be said that this database helps in maintaining the records of the customers as customers are the main attraction of the business. Networks are very important in retrieving the data and this is mandatory in any business thinking about the long run. Procedures keep an eye on the rest of the information systems and also monitor the activities for protection from any kind of problem. · Introduction: An overview of the farm management information systems. · Purpose of the vision: To get a good knowledge of the information systems and the amount of help it can do to improve the farm cultivation. · Product Overview: How the information systems are helping in the farm cultivation and also help the 100% Organic Co.
