ETHICAL DILEMMA
An ethical dilemma is a situation where a solution to be taken during the undesirable conditions. It may be due to the behavior of the person that occurs due to failures. For example, due to organization goals, social value some decision will lead to failure. Ethical dilemmas in business will exist where the decision-maker will make one or more decision which will create an impact on the profit of the organization and stakeholders. In this situation, one should take the best decision that should not create any conflict (Hokke et al, 2019).
DESCRIPTION OF VIDEOS
In the video, we can infer that professional Ken has released the untested software according to the management deadline. The manager did not know about the software release. He received a call from the person who says that the software has been released. He discussed this his colleague and they let the software released as it is. They were trying to handle the situation and they called ken and asking why the software has been released. Ken replied that he does not whether the software is tested or not but the management has decided to release the software so I have released it. After this discussion is made by the officials and ken was resigned from his job due to the sudden decision made by them. If the software is released untested then the customer will face some issues with it. Generally, the goal of the organization should focus on the satisfaction of the customers. But due to the sudden decision made by the ken the customers will not be satisfied.
In the given videos, we can infer the following ethical dilemma (Payne and Landry, 2006):
Data privacy and protection
It is necessary to protect the information of the employees that should not be exposed to the outside environment, vulnerable or threatened. It should be noted how the information can be protected from hackers. Security protections should be made using firewalls, techniques, VPN and encryption method in order to secure the data. Also, it should be ensured that the system should be configured properly which requires some additional investment to be made by the organization.
Piracy and altering ethical dilemma in ICT
The advancement in the ICT will have some way to remove the ethical dilemmas that is faced by the IT managers. When compared with previous years it has been reduced. But there is some point where there is a need for software piracy. Still, there are 37 per cent issues with software that are unlicensed. According to the survey of Forrester group’s 2018, there are fewer issues in business because using licenced software the profit of the company will be increased by 11 per cent.
