Unless there is some immigrations happening, people live in groups that are severely, unique and has their own set of rules and regulations. We generally refer to these rules and regulations as culture. Now when immigration happens, people who belong to one culture assimilate into people who belong to other culture.
They practice their own culture as well as adapt themselves to the culture they are living in. As mentioned by Jiang et al., with time, both the cultures are mixed and a hybrid culture is formed, which is known as a subculture. Hence, urban street subcultures are a byproduct of immigration.
