According to an article in the Wall Street Journal: “There is
infrequent turnover among directors at S&P 500 corporations, where the median director was 63 years old. . . . The
research found that at 24% of the companies, a majority of
the board had been in place for at least 10 years.” Is having
members of boards of directors serve for longer periods
likely to be good news or bad news for corporate governance? Briefly explain.
