     Americans Finally Consider Women As Competent As Men        
This is an article presented in the “The Newyork Times” online magazine. It is done in line with the intention of the Times magazine mission to encourage coverage and to promote more female readers(Nytimes.com). The article is presented as part of the times mission to cover articles with interest on the women issues. The article is about the changed perception of the Americans about women and their relative competency with men. Opinions indicated in the article are based on the summary observations made in the form of surveys and questionnaires from 1946 to till date. Based on comprehensive evaluation and observation of the changed trends in the opinions based on several focussed questions, it was summarized by the authors of the article, that there is considerable perception change now exists and now Americans consider women as competent as men.
Observations
Eagerly and her colleagues observed that there were public opinion polls of about 30000 adults from 1946 to 2018. As per the analysis of the social opinions and quantitative observations observed, it is said that there is massive social change in the system. In 1946, about 35 percent of the people thought that men and women were equally smart, the opinion increased to about 43% by 1995 and by last year, as high as 86% people believed that the women and men are equally smarter. However the people who favoured one sex over the other thought the women were smarter than men.
Women leaders are now seen not just in one domain, there are women leading in the form of journalists, scientists, politicians etc. College educated women have edged over the college educated men in the work force. Presidential debates also included record number of women in the recent years. All these changes are evidences for the massive social change occurring in the recent years.
