TYPES AND METHODS
Soils are of a variety of types and conditions that render them unique qualities. However, in order to retain these qualities and make proper utilization of them, the soils should be drained appropriately as well as adequately, so that they do not become dry, loose or lose their unique properties.
According to Landon (2014), there are a number of conditions that determine or regulate if a soil needs drainage or not, as well as the amount of the same. These conditions are— the type of the soil, type of drainage system accessible to it, slope of land, surface of the soil, porosity and the surrounding climate.
In case of soil type, there are basically three types of soil — clayey, sandy and loamy, among which sandy soil has maximum porosity, which is why it does not permit to hold water. On the other hand, clayey soil has the maximum elasticity, which is why it does not let a large...
