A thermocouple, used to measure the temperature of a gas stream in a duct, records a value of 300°C. If the duct walls are at a temperature of 100°C, calculate the true gas temperature. Assume that the thermocouple has an emissivity of 0.85 and that the heat transfer coefficient of the gas flowing past it is 75 W/m2K.
