A study was conducted to examine the thaw depths in late August to early September in the floodplain sites of the Tanana River southwest of Fairbanks, Alaska. The data in the following table are a subset of the thaw depth measurements (in cm) from four locations.
e Dissolved organic compounds (DOCs) consist of a variety of organic material in water systems. These dissolved particles are mostly the result of decaying organic matter and highly organic soils. The DOC concentration is one measure of the quality of a water system. Independent random samples of water in the Clackamas River in northwestern Oregon at four locations were obtained, and the DOC was measured for each (in mg/L).7 Is there any evidence to suggest at least two population mean DOC concentrations are different?
