A study found that elderly people who were never married or who are widowed who have a pet dog live longer, on an average, than those who do not have a pet dog. In other words, there is a positive correlation between pet ownership and life expectancy. Can pets replace medical interventions such as medicines and surgeries to increase lifespan?
