and a viscosity of 0.001 Pa s held at a pressure of 1 barg and is pumped to a distillation column operating at 2 barg through 50 m of pipe with an internal diameter of 50 mm and surface roughness 0.05 mm at a rate of 20 m3h–1. The pipe contains 4 open gate valves and 11 bends. Determine the power required for pumping. The column feed point is 10 m higher than the level in the storage tank. The efficiency of the pump is 60%.
