A sociologist is studying the social aspect of eating out and in particular is interested in the amount of time people spend in fast food restaurants versus more formal restaurants. She visits one fast food restaurant and has a colleague visit one formal restaurant at the same day/time as her. They collectively observe the following times (lengths of visits) in minutes:
By hand, conduct a formal hypothesis test at 5% level of significance to see if the average time spent in a fast food restaurant is lower than the average time spent in a formal restaurant using the p-value approach.
