A Social Psychologist wants to test the hypothesis that 6 year olds who are only children are more shy than the general population of 6 year old kids.  Based on extensive previous studies it is known that the average amount of time it takes for a 6 year old to first say hi to another, unknown 6 year old placed together in the same room is  µ = 25 seconds, with σ   = 5.6 seconds. The Psychologist obtains a random sample of n = 10 only children and places them in a room with an unknown  6 year old and measures how long it takes for them to say hi.
