A simple gelatin is known today as “America’s most famous dessert.’’ Although it was patented in 1845, Jell-O sales were minimal until the early 1900s. While primarily made from processed collagen, gelatin also contains sugar, artificial flavors, and coloring. Independent random samples of three gelatin brands were obtained, and the amount of sugar (in grams) in one serving was measured.
a. Conduct an analysis of variance test to show that there is evidence of an overall difference in population mean sugar content in gelatin servings. Use a = 0.01.
b. Construct the Bonferroni 99% confidence intervals to isolate the pairs of means contributing to the overall difference.
c. Draw a graph to represent the results of the multiple comparison procedure in part (b).
