A sample of n portions of lemon juice was obtained from a large batch. Each sample was subdivided into m portions and for each portion the content of essential oils (expressed in kg of oil/ton of juice) was obtained. Specify different statistical models that allow the estimation of the mean content of essential oils and identify the appropriate methods to analyze the data, indicating whether they are exact or approximate. In each case, state the assumptions clearly and discuss whether they seem reasonable in the light of the practical aspects of the study.
