A researcher wants to conduct a study examining differences in emotion regulation methods between those in high and low socioeconomic status (SES). She plans to offer $100 for 1 hour of participation. As part of the study, participants will be instructed to imagine and write about the 3 saddest experiences of their lives and then write about how they regulated their emotions during those 3 experiences. Participants will then be given $100 for participation and that will end their participation with the study with no additional debriefing.
