A refrigerator is operating on the Bell-Coleman cycle between the limits of 100 kPa and
100 kPa. Air is drawn from the cold chamber at 7◦C, compressed and then it is cooled
to 27◦C before entering the expansion cylinder. Expansion and compression follow
the law, pV1.3= C. Calculate the theoretical COP of the system. Take γ = 1.4 and
cp = 1.003 kJ/kg K for air.
