A reaction of carbon monoxide and hydrogen is conducted to produce methanol. The reactor effluent flows at a rate of 400 mol/min and contains 15.4 wt% H2, 54.0 wt% CO, and 30.6 wt% CH3OH is separated by using condenser in which the condensate methanol is taken as product while the unreacted reactant is recycle back to reactor. The recycle stream contains 0.40 mole% unreacted CH3OH, CO, H2, joins the fresh feed and fed to reactor. a. Draw and label the flowchart, perform a degree-of-freedom analysis for this process.
