A random sample of 100 units was selected from a manufacturing process. These units either passed or failed a tester in the course of the manufacturing process. A record was kept so that each unit could later be identified as to whether it passed or failed the manufacturing test. Each unit was then thoroughly tested in the laboratory to determine whether it should have passed or failed. The result of this laboratory evaluation was that a correct assessment was performed in manufacturing on 90 out of the 100 samples tested. Determine the 95% confidence interval for the test’s effectiveness.
