The valves and bends between the source reservoir and the pump are estimated to have a total local loss coefficient of 50. Under design conditions, the water in the reservoir has a temperature of 25◦C and the atmospheric pressure is 101.3 kPa. The pump specifications require that the pump have a minimum net positive suction head of 4 m. What is the maximum allowable flow rate through the system so as to avoid cavitation?
