A psychiatric survey is conducted in a large metropolitan area. A random sample of 2,000 residents is selected. Each resident is interviewed and diagnosed into one of six categories as follows: (a) healthy; (b) mild psychiatric symptoms; (c) moderate symptoms; (d) impaired; (e) severe impairment; or (f) incapacitated. The number of people from each social class is calculated for each category.
