Determine now using a computer the bootstrap confidence interval for the mean, standard deviation (of all data combined), Pp, and Ppk (without and with bias correction). Compare bootstrap values to calculated values whenever possible. The origination of the data is as follows: An and x R chart in Example 10.2 indicated that samples numbered 8, 9, 10, 12, 13, and 18 were out of control (i.e., the process is unpredictable). The process specifications are 0.4037  0.0013 (i.e., 0.4024 to 0.4050). Tabular and calculated values will be in units of 0.0001; i.e., because of this transformation, the specification limits will not be 24 and 50.
