A local convenience shopping centre wants to place a limit on how long customers are allowed to be parked in a
specific section of the parking lot. The manager of the centre is of the opinion that the average time customers
spend at the centre, is 30 minutes. The shopping times of n = 64 randomly selected customers were recorded.
The average and variance of the 64 shopping times were 33 minutes and 256 minutes, respectively.
The questions follow on the next page.
1. Is there sufficient evidence to indicate that the average time spent by customers at the shopping centre differs from what the manager believes? Use a test with level α = 0.10. Interpret your findings.

2.Construct a 90% confidence interval for the average time customers spend at the local shopping centre.
Interpret your result

3.Do the hypothesis test in (1) and confidence interval in (2) arrive at the same conclusion? Explain why.
