This section will entail a comprehensive plan including the materials required for proper delivery of the training. Training materials, if adequately used, multiply the productivity of the training sessions. It will consist of three parts. The first part will deal with the preparation of the training materials. The second part will include the training content and the information that will enhance the idea behind the sessions. The third part will discuss the rationale behind using online materials, program outlines, training manuals, textbooks, and other media. The three parts altogether will deliver the objective of the training in a defined and detailed manner.
Preparation of training materials will involve the application of first-hand knowledge and perspective of the trainer, quick survey of current texts, current practices that are specific to the field, and effectiveness of the materials that will be used. Presentation of the training material depends upon the cognitive approach to instructional design which is usually of two types: declarative and procedural. The former, as the name suggests is direct as it makes information known and offers an explicit explanation, and the latter is related to an established or an official way of doing something. Besides these two types, training materials can also be instructive which quite literally will cover instructional objectives like facts, concepts, principles, and mental models.
Content of any session must be well-built and direct in appearance so that adequate documentation can be done in the future. Behavior Analysis is the most necessary step towards the process of creating content for any session.
