A highway was subjected to a flood. The water surface elevation, at point A as shown in Figure P12.29, upstream of the highway was measured to be 30 m. The elevation, at point B, on the top of the crown of the pavement is 29.5 m. Estimate the discharge over a 50- m-long stretch of high way with this elevation. What was the depth of flow at the crown of the highway, knowing that critical flow conditions existed through the pavement's crown? Neglect the velocity head at point A.
