A group of 30 postmenopausal women were given oral conjugated estrogen for one month.Plasma levels of plasminogen-activator inhibitor type 1 (PAI-1) went down for 22 of the women, but went up for 8 women.15 Use a sign test to test the null hypothesis that oral conjugated estrogen has no effect on PAI-1 level.Useα=0.10 and use a nondirectional alternative.
