A female client, who suffers from migraine headaches, self-administered sumatriptan (Imitrex) for the first time yesterday. Today, the client informs the nurse that after taking the medication she began to experience chest pain. She further states that the drug was effective in relieving the headache. The nurse should:


1. Encourage the client to continue using the drug because it was effective.


2. Advise the client to tell her health care provider about the chest pain on her next visit.


3. Caution the client to contact her health care provider to report the chest pain today and to not use the sumatriptan until she talks to her health care provider.


4. Encourage the client to lie down in a quiet room and use cold packs during the next migraine.
