A direct fired dryer burns fuel oil with a lower calorific value of 19000 (Btu / Ibm). Combustion products are CO2 (g) and H2O (g). The composition of the fuel is 85% carbon, 12% hydrogen, 2% nitrogen and 1% water by weight. The flue gases leave the dryer at a temperature of 450 (° F) and contains 3 mol% CO2 and 11.8% CO on a dry basis. Fuel, air, and material enter the dryer at a temperature of 77 (° F). If the incoming air is saturated with water and heat losses of 40% of the fuel's net calorific value are allowed, find the water evaporated in the dryer per fuel burned (Ibm) (!!!base 100 moles of fuel (fuel oil)!!!!
