Non Steroidal Anti Inflammatory drugs like aspirin and ibuprofen interact with the warfarin and may cause serious complications of bleeding. The patient in the case study is given aspirin and ibuprofen overnight for controlling pain, by the nurse. I will have to monitor the patient for any Blood pressure elevation, dyspepsia. He has a history of aortic valve replacement two years back, so he may be at risk of cardiovascular unrest. The vital signs will be closely monitored for the patient. I will check the time of administration of these two drugs to the patient. If there is a gap of 2 hours between the administration of aspirin and NSAID, it may have no serious harm for the patient.
