A building of height 160 m has openings distributed uniformly along its height. The ambient pressure is 101 kPa and the mean wind speed is 8 msí1 . The inside and outside air temperatures are 24°C and í14°C respectively. (i) Calculate the theoretical pressure difference between the inside and outside due to the stack effect at heights of 30 m and 140 m. (ii) Assuming the respective wind coefficients for the windward and leeward sides of the building as 0.6 and í0.6, calculate the net pressure differences at heights of 30 m and 140 m.
