A “rogue wave” (one far larger than others surrounding a ship) can be a threat to ocean-going vessels (e.g., naval vessels, container ships, oil tankers). The European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts issues a warning when such waves are likely. The average for this rare event is estimated to be .0377 rogue waves per hour in the South Atlantic. Find the probability that a ship will encounter at least one rogue wave in a 5-day South Atlantic voyage (120 hours). (See Science News, November 18, 2006, pp. 328–329)
