A 36 ft. deep excavation is supported by a sheet pile system. Strut bracing and walers are located at the surface, 12 ft. below the surface, and 24 ft. below the surface. The strut bracing is on 16 ft. horizontal centers. Use A36 and a 1.5 FOS for all steel members. The soil is a silty sand with  g = 110 PCF, c = 0, and f = 300.

Assume the maximum soil pressure is 1600 psf. Compute the maximum compressive load in the struts. For purposes of these calculations assume the lowest sheet pile hinge point to be 3 ft below the bottom of the excavation.
