A 1/ 20 scale model of a spillway requires a discharge of 5.0/s in the laboratory. A hydraulic jump is formed in the model setup where the power lost was measured as 0.2 HP. Calculate (a) the discharge in the prototype neglecting viscous and surface tension effects, (6) the velocity in the prototype corresponding to a model velocity of 0.5 m/s, and (c) the horsepower lost in the prototype.
