A 0.02-liter, two-stroke cycle SI lawn mower engine runs at 900 RPM, using gasoline at an equivalence ratio and a fuel-to-oil ratio of 60:1 by mass. The engine is crankcase compressed and has a delivery ratio and a charging efficiency Combustion efficiency for the gasoline trapped in the cylinder, but is only 0.72 for the oil trapped in the cylinder. There is no catalytic converter.

Calculate:

(a) HC from the fuel and oil exhausted to the environment due to valve overlap during scavenging. [kg/hr]

(b) HC in the exhaust from unburned fuel and oil due to combustion inefficiency. [kg/hr]
