7.2Cnew SIT740 Research and Development in Information Technology Credit Task 7.2: Mini literature review (syntopic writing) In this task you will write an analysis of four papers on a given topic in AI & Robotics, i.e., a literature review. Note that a literature review typically includes many more papers, depending on the topic of review, and would aim to cover as much as possible. However, this exercise is designed to provide practice in analyzing work a particular topic, by looking at it from four different perspectives (i.e., as represented by the four papers). Submission Details Submit the following files to OnTrack: A PDF document with your literature review (max. 800 words) Instructions Part 1: Which particular application topic within AI & Robotics was most interesting to you? Was it robotics, games with AI, techniques in machine learning or automated reasoning? In this task, you are to choose a topic in AI & Robotics, find and read four research papers on the topic. Possible sources of research papers are these electronic databases: IEEExplore digital library scholar.google ACM Digital library You could search for papers using particular keywords in the databases above, or in specific journals. Each field usually has particular journals or conference proceedings that are most relevant. You need to search with suitable keywords, with as many keywords as possible at the start, and reducing depending on results; Use Deakin VPN from outside Deakin or access from within Deakin to get access to the above IEEE and ACM digital libraries. For example, suppose your topic is "AI for Strategic Games", you could look for papers using AI to play Go, Chess and Backgammon, or find other related papers on the topic, perhaps papers referenced by the papers you find. Part 2: Write a title for your topic (up to 20 words). Provide a complete reference (as you would find in the references/blibliography section of a paper) for each paper you have chosen (words for the reference don’t count). Based on the four papers write a mini (max. 800 word) literature review of AI & Robotics in your chosen application domain, describing the work from the four papers as follows: an introduction to the application domain key concepts and ideas, obtained from the four papers summarize, contrast, and compare the research done across the four papers including experiments done (if any), results and limitations, advantages and disadvantages. This can also be presented as a table.
