Answer 7:
Null Hypothesis (Ho): µ = 75000
Alternative Hypothesis (Ha): µ > 75000
Test Statistics

t = (X-bar - µ)/ (s/√n)
= (75500 – 75000)/ (18968.12/√20)
= 0.12
Degrees of freedom, df = n – 1 = 20 – 1 = 19
Using t-tables, the critical value is
t (0.05, 19) = ± 2.093
Since test statistics is within the critical value, we fail to reject the null hypothesis.
We can conclude that productivity objective (in dollars) of better than $75,000 per employee is not possible.
Answer 8:
Null Hypothesis (Ho): µ = 200
Alternative Hypothesis (Ha): µ ≠ 200
Test Statistics
Z = (X-bar - µ)/ (σ/√n)
= (218 – 200)/ (30/√64)
= 4.80
Using Z-tables, the critical value is
Z (0.05/2) = Z (0.025) = ± 1.96
Since test statistics is...
