After reading the articles about the people of Juchitan, Mexico in the Reading and Resources are of this module, select a culture that is of interest to you. Research the culture's view of homosexuality. The objective is to gain a better understanding of the various forms and expressions and societal reactions to homosexuality.
Then, write a short paper summarizing what you have learned. Specifically address whether homosexuality is accepted, expected, or disapproved. If homosexuality is condemned, why does the culture regard it as deviant? What are the societal sanctions? Discuss the culture's level of tolerance toward homosexuals and the challenges that homosexuals face within the culture.
