Entry 1a (LO1, LO2)
Identification of the reflective model and justification
I have chosen Gibbs reflective cycle 1988 to assess the learning from the GSM college of London. The first part of Gibbs reflective cycle is description through which I have assessed the thing that I have learned in the college. On the feelings step of the Gibbs reflective cycle I have measured my thinking regarding the learning procedure of business management in GSM college of London. After that through the model I have assessed experiences regarding the course of business management and then I have measured the importance of the course. Furthermore Gibbs reflective cycle 1988 enabled me to assess the total learning outcomes of my course and the future applications of the course can be easily judged by me afterwards (Gibbs, 1988).
Description
Learning values and professional development
I am doing bachelor in business management from GSM college of London. In order make progress in future profession this college can be the best choice for a student of business management. In this college total course of business management is divided very prominently in order to make the study of business management sequential and effective (influenced by Bassot, 2016). In my education of business management from GSM college of London I have learned basic knowledge about laws that are related to impose control action on a business. In the study of basic business laws I have learned the regulatory actions that must be imposed in order to conduct the operation of a business legally. This can help to maximize the revenue generation of a business by reducing the losses related to the penalty which can be imposed due to illegal or unlawful activities (influenced by Alvi et al. 2015).
Additionally I have learned basic business ethics that must be required in order to conduct the operation of the business with implementation of basic values. This can help to implement emotional factors related to the operation of business which in turn can help to increase employee’s satisfaction and in turn can help to increase the productivity of the business (influenced by Anne Støren, 2014). Furthermore I also have learned from the self reflection that basic human resource management and economics related to a business. Thus self reflection on the learning on business laws and business ethics can help to implement quality factors and regulatory action to a business properly. Additionally self assessment of learning of human resource management and basic economic factors related to a business can help to optimize the productivity of a business. Thus both these things are very beneficial for my future career progression (influenced by Cronin and Lowes, 2016).
Comparison between previous and present knowledge
Feelings
Since the course enriched my knowledge regarding the business management process thus I can incorporate various ideas in the business in order to develop the business. Primitively I was unaware about the business management thus I have never suggested business improvement strategies but after the course accomplishment I came to know the cost effectiveness strategies (influenced by Bassot, 2016). As for example I came to know better CFP is important for the business growth in order to grab competitive advantage within the market. Apart from this I understood the business economy, business law and business ethics importance after the accomplishment of course (Gibbs, 1988).
The course in GSM college in London regarding business management was helped me to know the importance of relationship management. I felt that every people needs to know that unusual behavior damage the client base of business and in order to maintain the business sustainability people need to behave well. Apart from this I felt during the course in order to grab the competitive advantage employers need to maintain transparency in their business. The transparency of business helps the employer to enhance their social support and thereby the CSR scores can be improved (influenced by Cronin and Lowes, 2016). Hence the CSR score improvement will improve the social support and thereby the business can enter into the global market by intensifying their client base (Gibbs, 1988).
The course of GSM College in London helped me to gather knowledge regarding the problem management of business and thus I am capable now to manage the issues that can be raised in the business. As for example I am capable now to assess the risk of business before the risk arises by analyzing the business threats and opportunities. Apart from this importance of business ethics became clear to me and thus I can suggest the business growth strategies (influenced by Husebø et al. 2015). As for example the course enriched my knowledge regarding leadership qualities requirement for the stable business environment and thus applying this knowledge I can improve business scenario by selecting appropriate leader for the business. On the other hand the course helped me to gather knowledge regarding CSR score improvement and thus I am able to apply ideas for the improvement of business CSR score (influenced by Potter, 2015). As for example I came to know that improvement of CSR score can be done by conducting the business in an eco-friendly manner. Hence be reducing the carbon emission the business performance can be improved (Gibbs, 1988).
Relation between Gibbs reflective model and learning outcome from business management
Evaluation
Application of Gibbs reflective model has helped me to understand the importance of each sections of the course of business management. First of all the basic definition of major things related to a business like business laws, human resource management and economy of business helps me to understand the basic operation related to business (influenced by Cronin and Lowes, 2016). In the next stage of my study I have learned the ethical factors that are related to basic human feelings related to a business. This has helped me to relate basic values with business operation. This can help me to make proper evaluation of the good and bad things related to the operation of the business. Furthermore Gibbs reflective model can help me to make proper analysis of the situations that can be arrived in the operation of a business (Gibbs, 1988).
Analysis
This has helped me to make proper analysis of my learning outcome and has helped me to make proper and effective resolution related to my study at GSM London. This can further help me to draw the action plan related to the business operation thus application of Gibbs model is beneficial for me for applying my knowledge and to draw relevant action plan for the business (influenced by Cronin and Lowes, 2016). This is thus beneficial for me for making proper and effective analysis of the business and has helped me to grow my knowledge in business management which can in turn help me to make further progress in my career (Gibbs, 1988).
Conclusion
Value related to the application of Gibbs model and justification
Application of Gibbs model in my study has helped me to understand the value of the knowledge related to business ethics. Business ethics is related to the implementation the control action in order to protect basic emotional factors and basic values that are related to the employees and whole organization (influenced by Gallagher et al. 2017). Gibbs reflective model has helped me to assess the necessity of the implementation of nominal business ethics in order to increase the rate of production. Additionally the application of Gibbs model has helped me to understand the action plan that must be taken in order to solve internal issues related to violation of business ethics. Moreover the application of Gibbs model has helped me to understand the values related to economy of a business and this has added extra informative knowledge in my study (influenced by Husebø et al. 2015). Understanding the economy of a business can help me to develop proper financial action plan and help me to make proper analysis of the financial factors related to the operation of a business. This is thus helpful to make proper...
