Objectives
1. To provide in-service training components for thirty in-service agents.
2. To equip trainees with knowledge on searches as authorized by federal law and Fourth Amendment requirements.
3. To provide probable of cause understanding as it relates to unwarranted searching.
4. To establish the function of social control, as it relates to law.
Methodology
1. Systematic approach to ensure trainees get the most out of training and focus on the needs of the Organization (Kaur, 2010).
2. Group discussions shall be utilized to strengthen participation and sharing of experiences.
3. Assessments to establish a clear understanding and learning objectives have been met.
4. Reflection for trainees on how to incorporate what they have learnt in their daily duties.

Expected Outcome

Understanding Functions of Criminal Justice Law and Origin for Searches
The basic function of criminal justice law is social control. Criminal justice systems steps in where other social institutions in society like family, Churches and schools become unsuccessful in controlling social order. In most cases, the criminal justice system is not as lenient to law breakers. The system takes up the function to apprehend lawbreakers through one of the ways, carrying out searches. Criminal justice system provides protection to citizens who abide to Rousseau (17-1778) cited in Pollock (2008) ‘social contract’.
