Andrew Pyper’s The Guardians is a novel that delineates with the death of one of the four characters in the novel, namely Ben. The novel runs across the past and the present to discover the dynamics of relationships, and most importantly the friendship of the four characters, namely Trevor, Ben, Randy and Carl. Their lives and fates are guided by a “secret” associated with the evil building Thurman House. The evils of the house destroyed the innocence of the four friends as well as wreaked a havoc in their lives. The novel by Pyper is created by the amalgamation of a number of themes. __________________________________________
