31. It is important that employees be notified of consequences for inappropriate behaviors.
32. In most disciplinary cases, due process requires the organization to allow employees to correct their misbehavior.
33. A dismissal meeting will usually be quite lengthy in order to allow time for detailed discussion and so an employee understands what they should have done differently.
34. During a dismissal meeting the manager should not directly tell the employee that he/she is being dismissed or terminated; rather the message should be upbeat to allow the employee to save face.
35. Severance compensation is payment so a dismissed employee will not file a lawsuit against the organization.
