PART 3 (A1.3) Business Report – Purpose: Business reports serve a variety of purposes. They are generally structured in a particular way – not just for academic purposes, but more importantly for business purposes. You have applied for a graduate role at Phillip Island Nature Parks. As part of this application you have been asked to write a report examining certain aspects of the management in the organisation to which you applied. This report will showcase your knowledge. It will also demonstrate your developing academic and business skills such as communicating in writing, presenting information to an audience of experts, using information to support your claims, and acknowledging the sources of information you have cited. In addition to further developing your skills, this report requires you to consider where you might fit as a manager in your chosen organisation and reflect on what you can do to prepare for such a position. Use the Business Report format (see p. 5 below) to guide you on the sections required in your report. Remember your answer must focus on Phillip Island Nature Parks. DO NOT CONTACT ORGANISATION. There are four tasks in Part 3 (A1.3). You must complete and submit all four tasks. Task 1 (A1.3.1): Use theoretical management concepts to define and explain the influence of the general environment on organisations with particular attention to sociocultural trends. Analyse sociocultural trends in Australia in 2019/20 and evaluate how Phillip Island Nature Parks has responded to them in 2020. Begin your research by reading pp. 38-41 of the textbook*. Task 2 (A1.3.2): Use theoretical management concepts to define and explain the influence of the specific environment on organisations with particular attention to an organisation’s industry regulation. Analyse and evaluate how Phillip Island Nature Parks organisation has responded to regulations in their industry in 2019/20. Begin your research by reading pp. 41-46 of the textbook*. Task 3 (A1.3.3): Use theoretical management concepts to define and explain the Social Responsibility (SR) of an organisation. Analyse the approaches taken by Phillip Island Nature Parks to SR in 2019/20 and evaluate how this organisation has responded to the Sustainable Development Goals SDG4 and SDG9. Begin your research by reading pp. 66-72 of the textbook*> Task 4 (A1.3.4): Identify the kind (or level) of manager you aspire to be in Phillip Island Nature Parks. Explain and analyse the skills needed by this kind (or level) of manager in your chosen organisation. Begin your research by reading pp. 5-8 and 12-14 of the textbook. Next, explain and evaluate how your completion of any two experiences offered in the Talent build your experience website could provide you with experience relevant to any two of these skills*. *Each of the above four tasks in A1.3 should be about 500 words in length and must cite the prescribed MMM132 textbook, one or more peer reviewed Management academic journal articles, and one or more reputable sources and/or the website of your chosen organisation. Briefly outline the task(s) you were asked to perform, the methods you used to find information to address these tasks, your conclusion to each of these tasks in relation to your chosen organisation. This heading should not be listed in the Table of Contents (Approximately 200 words) Table of contents (not included in the word count) List and number the headings of the main sections and sub-sections of your report. (Use the MSWord template provided in the unit site to learn to create heading styles, sub-headings and an automatic Table of Contents – TOC) Introduction Set the scene; give some background information about the report/organisation; state the aim/purpose of the report. Provide an outline describing the main sections in the body of the report (Approximately 150 words) Body of Report Four task sections Organise the body of the report into four sections. Each section should cover each of the four tasks with clearly numbered section headings and subheadings. This report focused on analyzing the social cultural trend, industry regulation and social responsibility of Phillip Island Nature Parks. By analyzing the organization it is evident that employment of women is higher than man. Phillip Island Nature Parks is working towards achieving industry regulation implemented by the Australian government. It is also focused on working towards their social responsibility.

Organization was formed by the State Government of Victoria in 1996, Phillip Island Nature Parks comprise over 1,805 hectares of Crown Land set aside under the Crown Land (Reserves) Act 1978 "for the protection of areas of ecological or beautiful significance or of science, historical or archaeological interest. They are part of the UNESCO Western Port Biosphere Reserve, and our world-renowned environmental and science projects protect and maintain stunning coastlines, woodlands, wetlands, and wildlife sanctuaries. Profits created by them are key attractions that are invested within the Nature Parks in restoration, science, ecotourism, environmental and educational ventures. We are also proud to be Phillip Island's top employer, with a dynamic team devoted to the organization's growth.
Analysis on Social cultural trend:
The Nature Parks (Phillip Island Nature Parks) is a special environmental company providing ecotourism opportunities on Phillip Island. They recognize that the Crown Property we are fortunate to control is part of the Bunurong people's ancestral lands and that the ground, waters and sea are of sacred, cultural and economic significance to the islander cultures of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait. They are an agency dedicated to acknowledgement and healing. In a given culture, the socio cultural aspect of the general environment relates to the demographic attributes, general behavior, perceptions and beliefs of people. Socio cultural shifts and patterns impact organization in two major ways. Firstly, trends in demographic characteristics influence how firms recruit their corporations, such as the number of individuals with unique abilities or the growth/decline in certain population segments (marital status, age, gender, and ethnicity). The population in Australia is getting older.
The proportion of the population aged 65 and above has increased sharply over the past decade and the proportion of the population (those aged 35-54) has decreased significantly in the peak phase of their lives for income earning and consumption .The generational transition to an older population was influenced by the large generation of 'baby boomers' (those born between 1946 and 1964), who for five decades have guided shifts in the age makeup of the Australian population. In the last decade, the baby boomer generation started to hit the retirement age, substantially rising the proportion of the population aged over 65.
