Project Life Cycle
This project aims to address the need of the company to enhance its IT infrastructure and derive enhanced efficiency / effectiveness of the business operations by way of identification of the Cloud-based MIS specifications for the client, procurement of suitable Cloud-based MIS system for the client, and implementation, integration and transitioning of Cloud-based MIS system. The proposed project shall be undertaken in an organized manner using the lifecycle approach. As this project is of information technology nature, the lifecycle approach shall be most suitable.
The various phases in this project shall include the following:
· Project initiation will be the initial phase of this project’s lifecycle and the same shall entail the measurement of value as well as feasibility concerning this project. In case of this project, the evaluation tools which shall be employed for undertaking the same shall include business case documentation, and feasibility assessment (Meredith et al. 2017; Joslin and Muller 2015; Todorovic et al. 2015).
· Project planning shall be undertaken after project gains approval, and this phase shall entail the development of robust plan for guiding project team, and ensuring the project delivers expected outcomes, undertaken within expected time and delivered without any cost overruns. In this phase, the focus shall be to develop project plan that will offer guidance to obtain required resources, acquire financing as well as procure materials required. In addition, project plan shall be aimed to offer direction for handling risk, ensuring quality outputs, leading to acceptance, communication of benefits for stakeholders as well as managing the suppliers (Meredith et al. 2017; Joslin and Muller 2015; Todorovic et al. 2015).
· Project execution shall focus on building the deliverables, that is, cloud-based MIS, which will satisfy Sunshine Homes. Effective execution shall be ensured through allocation of resources as well as keeping the team members to be focused on the tasks assigned (Meredith et al. 2017; Joslin and Muller 2015; Todorovic et al. 2015).
· Monitoring & control represent phases that shall be integrated along with execution as they occur often at same time. The constant monitoring of progress in the project will be crucial for its success (Meredith et al. 2017; Joslin and Muller 2015; Todorovic et al. 2015).
· Project closure shall be the final phase of the project and entail closing of the project when the Cloud-based MIS gets implemented and delivered to Sunshine Home including the communication of completion to relevant stakeholders as well as releasing of resources (Meredith et al. 2017; Joslin and Muller 2015; Todorovic et al. 2015).
