The colonial-era began in 1970 in America. It is said that music in the United States is as varied in comparison of its people. The United States have more of spiritual music and they are performed usually in groups. The United States has always been living with the sound of music. They had a broad spectrum of musical instruments including organs, recorders, flutes, fifes, violins, harpsichords, trumpets and many more.
There exist both non-vocal and vocal music (Shanahan, Neubarth & Conklin, 2016). The purpose of music was entertainment but served numerous social functions too. There was military music, sacred music; ceremonial music, dancing music as well as carols, ballads, hymns and folk songs. Hence, the musicians played instruments to go with reels and individuals enjoyed dancing. The military with drums and fifes played music and marched.

At this time, the band reached new heights of professionalism and quality. Troops needed the band, so at that time it was inexpensive. This is because everyone was excited to learn and play the band and focused exclusively on training the musicians to be professionals. The band was not only engaged in concerts but also played a part in picnic, parades and political rallies.
The band was influential because it constitutes cultural ingredient for the officer people and the social circuit, in which they use to move.
