These foods have successfully shown desirable traits that have been passed down to the next species of their generation. So today, GM foods have become a large part of our diet.
Genetically Modified foods are created for a variety of reasons. Some GM crops are created to be resistant to herbicides while others are created to kill pests. Crops are also being tested to resist draught and fulfil vitamin deficiencies. Genetic techniques are also being studied to encourage sustainable agriculture as well as address hunger issues. So, future GM foods will have the ability to produce greater yield in terms of quantity and quality.
